Q: I do not receive the requested wave prediction.

A: Have you placed the correct request in the subject area of your e-mail, i.e. waves,-1.5,-83 for Ecuador (location 1°30'S ; 83°W).
Keep in mind that eastern longitude is positive and western longitude is negative, see the interactive map with co-ordinates. or choose a map from the table below. Each blue dot in these maps represents a NOAA data point. Keep in mind that the resolution of the NOAA model is 1 degree in North-South direction and 1.25 degree in East-West direction. It is also possible to view all NOAA locations in Google Earth.

Q: The requested data in the text file is all empty ("-").
A: The location requested for is probably land.
The blue areas in this map are available. As one can see, for example, the Irish Sea and the Mediterranean Sea are not incorporated in the NOAA wave model.

Q: I would like to receive the requested data in a separate text file instead of receiving the data in the body of the e-mail message.
A: You have to add an 'a' at the end of your request in the subject area, e.g. waves,53,3,a.

Q: I do not receive the requested route data.
A: Use plain text email format or rich text format (rtf). The HTML mail format is not supported.
